The playmate. Your pet's companion.

You may have noticed that most of your neighbors have two pets in the same room. They are the main pet and its playmate.

Having one helps you earn gc since you can put them both to sleep and when they wake up you will receive two bags with a gem and some coins in each one. And receiving two bags means it takes less time to get 1 gc.

To make it appear for the first time you just have to follow these steps:

In case you don't understand:
1.- Edit home, 2 click on the heart, 3.- Save.
If you do it in the room you have marked with the stars, the neighbors will see it.
If you do it in another room, the neighbors will see it if they look for which room you have the heart in.

When it appears for the first time, it may not be what you want. Look what mine was like

But it's not a problem. Go to Stylist and there you will see that there are two little faces above

Click on the face with the heart and modify it to your liking. Color, eyes, name, etc.

This is how mine turned out (I put the wig and dress on later)

From that moment on, when you enter the closet, you will see that there are also two little faces there.

Click on the heart face and you can dress it up. If it's like your main pet, whether it's a boy or a girl, you can use the clothes you already have. If it's different, you might want to buy some clothes for it.
In this case, if you go to the store directly from the closet, the playmate will be the one doing the shopping.

What can it do?
Since it is not the main pet, you will have to select it when you want it to do something that your pet normally does.

For example: The things to take care of it. Usually when you click on something, they fall to your pet and the playmate can only use them if you give them to him directly. But if you select him by clicking on him, they will fall to him (or to her if she is a girl like mine).

You can take him shopping. You select him and that's it. So, if he were different from the main pet, you could try on the clothes directly. If you enter the closet from the store, he will be the one who enters. But if you go from the store to your house and from there to the closet, the one who enters is the main pet.

If you choose, you can dye or bleach a wig that she is wearing.

You can also put potions in them. Of course, if you want them both to carry the same ones, you'll have to buy two of each. (There will be an entry talking about behavior potions soon.)

And you can go visit your neighbors with both of them by selecting the playmate before starting.
Here you can see my pet and his playmate visiting a neighbor

The playmate can also play with any interactive item that the neighbor has in his house by simply clicking on the item. But be careful! If you click on your pet while visiting a neighbor, the playmate will not accompany him on the next visit.

The demo videos in this post don't have sound because I can't speak English, but I hope you can understand them.

These past few weeks we have been given cookies that when we fed them to the pet, he would pull out a little sign saying how cute he was or how much he appreciated that we loved him.
Here is Esquitx, my main pet, with one of those signs.

But if you click on the playmate and it is him (or her) who you give the cookie to, he (or she) will be the one to take out the sign.
Here you can see Splash, Esquitx's partner/little sister, with the same sign the next day.

What else will they do in the future?

Earn Gc (the game currency)

This is a question I often get asked: How can I earn money?

There are several ways to earn those green money called gc (green cash). Some of these ways are available to everyone, others only to a few: Main accounts.

If you have a Main account, you will receive a bag of 2 gc and a bag of peanuts like the ones you see here every day.

The color of the bag indicates what is inside.

The pink bag has 5 peanuts and 1,500 coins. The blue bag has 4 peanuts and 2,000 coins and the green bag has 2 peanuts and 3,000 coins.

These bags can be clicked to obtain the coins and peanuts to give to your pet or they can be saved and when you have enough, sold in the trading groups.

If you open them, the peanuts are added to your pet's menu.

and every time you give him one to eat, after 1 minute he will give you a bag in which there will be a gem from this collection

and when you complete it you will get 1 gc.

If your account is NOT Main, in which case it will be Alt or Multi, you can also earn some coins and 1 gc by feeding him, although in this case it will take a little longer, but the dishes that last 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, and 24 hours give a piece of the kitchen collectible that also exchanges for 1 gc.

Regardless of the status of your account, every time you level up you will be given some gc, and the more levels you go up, the more gc you will be given. (I don't remember when we went from 1 to 2, or from 2 to 3, but they increase as the levels increase).

Here you can see an explanation of the different account statuses.

If your account is Main you can also play bingo every day

In each game you play you can win pink teddy bears and since everything in this game has a buyer, you can sell the unopened teddy bears and receive 1 gc for each one.

If you prefer to open them, you will have to put them in the room and click on them. They will give you prizes like these.

From left to right: A bag with 5 peanuts that when given to your pet gives you 1 gem after 1 minute, which means you get 1 gc every 5 minutes; a bag with 2 hazelnuts that if you give to your pet gives you 2 gems after 5 minutes, which means 2 gc every 25 minutes; 1 self-visit certificate, a cookie that when given to your pet gives you 1 gc; or a bag in which you can choose between a cookie or a drop of 25 drops of water for what is planted in the garden.

All of these things can be sold, although in this case the profit is somewhat lower on the bag of hazelnuts since they are quoted at 2 bags for 1 gc. The rest are sold at 1 gc per unit.

When you draw bingo, which happens once every 5 games on average, (the average is always true. It may take you 7 spins to get a bingo, but you will get the next one on the third try). you get a bag like this
that you can open or sell. If you sell it you can get between 20 and 25 gc for each one. If you open it you will get 5 pink bears, but when you have opened 18 bags you will get a bag like this one...
...from which comes a gift that you can see if you click on it but it doesn't become effective until you choose which one you want and click Collect.
This is very practical because it prevents you from collecting a gift that you may not be interested in or by mistake.
The prizes in this bag change every two or three months.

This bag can also be sold.
Its price is between 250/350 gc, depending, in this case, on the seller's need for gc or the buyer's desire for the gift.

Each month, you win 6 red bags by playing the daily game. Since you get a prize bag for every 18 non-prize bags, that means you get a prize bag every 3 months.

There are also challenges every week to get gems or parts of the blue ticket collectible: these opals.

Each blue ticket sells for 5 gc if you don't want to save them.

As I mentioned before, if your account is NOT Main you won't get these things, but there are other ways to get gc besides feeding it.

You can get 2 sleep bags like this each day by putting your pet and their playmate to sleep.
When they wake up you get a bag for each of them, (that's why it's nice and convenient to have both).
Inside each bag there's a gem and 100 coins and you can also sell them at a rate of 2 bags x 1 gc if you save them. (Sales are usually made for a minimum of 5 gc, so you need 10 bags or a mix of things that allow you to ask for at least 5 gc.)

You can, as I said, earn gc by leveling up.
You can use the yellow coins to buy saunas (that makes you level up faster) and maybe there are people who will buy them. They are paying 3 gc for one of these infrared

If you can't sell them, you can always sell them to the box you have there, down on the right and recover 1/3 of what it cost you.

You can also get yellow coins from these daisy baskets, if you do what I explain here. (coming soon)

And planting red or green chilis in your garden.

The profit is exactly the same in both cases, considering the difference in price and water required, and they are by far the seeds that produce the most hearts and coins of anything in the store.

The 1, 2, 4, 6, 12 and 24 hour food bags also have buyers. I don't know exactly how much they pay for it, but in this game everything or almost everything has a buyer.
Collections of items found in neighbors' houses are also sold, but you have to have 100 to sell them: Headphones, Performer, and Magazine pay pretty well. The Cleaner collection pays a lot less, I think 5 or 10 gc for every 100 collections, but it also costs less to put them together.

If you have a credit card and can afford it, a banner is put up for sale every week for $19.95 or the equivalent in your country's currency.
It can be seen in-game next to the theme announcement when you click on the bags to open the shop.
When you buy it you get 170 gc (or 160 if it's something that makes money) plus the item in question which can also be sold.
In this case the price depends on the item and the time you sell it.

You can also use the gc you earn to buy the limited ones that come out on Wednesdays and sell them, when they are removed from the store, for a little more than what they cost. You can do this when the trunk looks like this with that green NLA.

Even yellow coins are useful here. On Halloween, Christmas, or whatever theme you see being removed from the store, you can buy the coin stuff and when it looks like this in the chest...

.you can sell it for 1 gc each unit.

There are also some groups that do item giveaways and help players who are just starting out.
And since they are available in several languages, you're sure to find the one that best suits what you want to do.

With this explanation I do not intend to advise you to do anything. Neither to sell nor not to sell.
Everyone knows what they most want to do with things or what interests them most.
The only problem you'll have will be finding a group that accepts alt accounts.

Getting neighbors

In this game, unlike others, neighbors are not added automatically. You have to ask them to accept being your neighbor. This is because you can ask someone to be your neighbor even if they are not your Facebook friend.

To ask someone to be your neighbor, you have to click on this little box that appears to the left of the area where your neighbors' pieces are, or will be.

This will open a tabbed popup window.

In the tab you see there are people asking for neighbors.

You can visit them and also ask them to be your neighbors.
You can also add yourself to that list so that others can know that you need neighbors.

In the second tab you can request that those people who have sent you their ID be your neighbors.

Or write the name of a friend who you know plays, but be careful! You have to write the name correctly.

At the bottom of the neighbors list, on the far right, you will see this button.

where you will find this invitation to play so you can send it to your friends.

You can also join a group of players, such as Pet City VIP, where you can ask for neighbors with the assurance that they will be people who play daily. (Click on the link to do it)

Sceneries. How do they work

This is an English post to show new players, who have never played to Pet City, how the sceneries work.

A scenery is what you can see through windows or through glass doors.

All the rooms in the game, ALL of them, have a scenery behind the walls. Even the "garden" rooms. But you can't see it until you place a window on the wall.

The Default Scenery in the game looks like this (see image below) when you place a window or a door.
(You can click on the picture to enlarge it).

Now the scenery shows a wintry neighborhood because this is the only one that changes with seasons.

You can change it for another, like the new scenery that came out last Monday 12-2-2019, with the "Christmas Season is Here" release, and it will look like this:

You can also change it for some other scenery that you can buy in the shops, like "Cozy Autumn Town", that came out with "Comfy Cafe".

To change the default scenery for any other, you just have to drag and drop it into the room and when you place a window you can see it on and you will see the default scenery in your chest.

If you want to see the whole scenery, maybe to use as landscape, you must use a transparent wallpaper, and you will see the previous sceneries in this post as shown below:

The Default Scenery doesn't have any floor to match with it, but some of them do.

And you can put some items over it to set an outdoor room, like the one below that I made with the "Cozy Autumn" scenery.

You can also use transparent wall section to do something like this tea shop.

This is an indoor room with an outdoor part. The windows of the shop show the scenery and you can see it as an outdoor too because I've put a Transparent wall section.
To do this different floor I used a floor for the outdoor and I covered the indoor floor part with floor extenders.

More.-
If you empty a room, all the items in it go to the chest, except for the scenery.
And you can't see the scenery without windows.
Then, I advise you to remember where have you placed the Default scenery to change it BEFORE you empty the room.
But if you have emptied it and you don't remember where the scenery is, you just need to place a window and you'll see it.

I hope this post will help you understand how it works.

Status: What is yours and what does it mean?

 What is Account Status?

Account status is a distinction that the game program makes to determine whether you are entitled to certain things.

There are 3 statuses in the game: Main, Alt, and Multi.

Whether your account is considered one or another depends on several factors.

Main, as the name suggests, is the main account.

If you were the only person in your house who played Pet City in its old version, or you were the only person who played on your computer, or you were the first person to open the game out of those who would end up playing on the same computer, your account was considered Main.

Note that I speak in the past tense. That's because it's not very clear to me what happens now if you open the game without having ever played and without anyone having played Pet City 2 on the same computer.

I do know that if you open the game on a mobile without linking it to your Facebook account, that account will be considered Alt. but they will offer to buy the starter pack and it is very possible that by doing so it will become Main. But I have no way of finding out, so I will limit myself to explaining what I know for sure.

If you opened your account on the same computer as another person in your house, or you opened a second account to help you collect gc, but you never bought anything paying with real money, banners for example, your account was considered Alt. or Alternative.

But if you bought something with that account before the change from PC1 to PC2, your account became Main and its status is maintained.

If more than 3 accounts were opened on your same computer, the first one will be Main and the others became Multi.

I believe that if something was bought before the change, paying with real money, with each and every one of those accounts, they all became Main and maintain their status.

What does that mean?

Since Pet City 2 started, only Main accounts receive some things, like the bag of 2 gc and the bag of peanuts that we get every day when we log in from a certain time of day, depending on the country you live in, the Bingo game, or finding things in neighbors' houses on special dates. The rest of the accounts don't receive any of this.

Can I change?

It depends. If of the different accounts on your PC, whether they are all yours or someone in your family, there is one that plays the most and the others hardly ever log in or are just there for support, you can request that they change the status of the one that is used the most to the one that, being Main, hardly ever plays, but I don't know to what extent they pay attention to the request.

I also know of people who have shown that they are different individual entities and not several accounts of the same person and in some cases they have been granted the change but in others they have not.

Why?

As in many things, the just have ended up paying for the sinners.

There are players who opened accounts in droves. There was someone who boasted of having more than 100.

In Pet City 1 everyone received whatever came out to help the players, gifts at the neighbors' houses, the initial lottery, etc. I know someone who ended the round of pets with a real fortune in gc. EVERY DAY.

At some point before the move from 1 to 2, in an attempt to avoid these abuses, the internal system of the game began to differentiate the accounts in those 3 groups and decided that only the main accounts would receive all the help. But they could not (or did not want to) demote the multi-accounts converted to Main for having bought banners from them, although they did demote those who had not been able or wanted to do so.

How can I know what my status is?

In the game settings, in the first option you will see this screen where this information is.
